Dates for the 2026 World Cup Uganda Cranes Qualifiers revealed

The dates for Botswana and Algeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifying matches have been confirmed by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA).
FUFA received approval from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Monday to hold international games at the recently renovated Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.
On Friday, June 7, Uganda will play host to Botswana; on Monday, June 10, Uganda will host Algeria at Namboole.
The last time Uganda hosted an international game at Namboole was November 17, 2019, when they defeated Malawi 2-0 in the AFCON Qualifiers for 2021.
Paul Put’s team lost their opening match of the 2026 World Cup Qualification against Guinea 2-1 before winning their second match against Somalia 1-0.
Group G includes Algeria, Somalia, Guinea, Botswana, and Mozambique in addition to Uganda.
Only Algeria has ever advanced to the world’s largest football competition, having won the championship four times, in 1982, 1986, 2010, and 2014.
