Arsenal handed huge boost in their pursuit of Benjamin Sesko
May 31, 2024
Benjamin Sesko, a striker for RB Leipzig, is allegedly leaning toward joining Arsenal this summer. The forward, who is valued at £45 million, has drawn interest from a number of teams, including Chelsea, Manchester United, and Italy.
The Gunners appear to be in the lead in the competition for his signature, though. For Mikel Arteta, who is eager to add a young striker to partner with Kai Havertz—who had a fantastic season with Arsenal last year—this is a huge boost.
Rumors have been fueled by Sesko’s agent, Elvis Basanovic, who has been sighted at Arsenal matches this season. Even though he has only been with RB Leipzig for a year, the team is open to selling if the proper offer is made.
According to sources, Arsenal is still considering a possible deal for Sesko and is holding out hope that they would be able to reduce the player’s rumored £45 million release clause.
Benjamin Sesko, who turns 21 on Friday, will play England in the group stages of the Euros as a member of the Slovenian team. He is one of the players on Arsenal’s shortlist and is 6 feet 5 inches tall with a solid goal scoring record.
Ivan Toney of Brentford and Alexander Isak of Newcastle are no longer being evaluated, although Brian Bobbey of Ajax and Evan Ferguson of Brighton are still possible targets.
