Arsenal and Mikel Arteta decide on Victor Osimhen trasnfer
July 3, 2024
According to reports, Arsenal has decided against making a deal for Victor Osimhen of Napoli. The Nigerian star had earlier been connected to a high-profile transfer to the Gunners.
However, they have moved on to other options. As reported by footballitalia and Corriere dello Sport, Arsenal would rather acquire Victor Gyokeres of Sporting Lisbon.
The Gunners are considering a move for the Swedish striker because they believe his prospective salary package to be more feasible. They would still need to shell out €100 million to hire Gyokeres.
Victor Osimhen was also connected to Chelsea and Manchester United, two Premier League rivals. However, the Blues are no longer relevant, and the Red Devils favor Joshua Zirkzee.
Arsenal may need to bring in a new defender this summer even though they are eager to increase their offensive alternatives. According to reports, several of the top teams in Europe are interested in William Saliba.
The Frenchman is the front-runner to succeed departing captain Nacho Fernandez at Real Madrid, according to Mundo Deportivo. However, Real Madrid is not the only party with an interest.
In the event he decides to leave the Emirates, PSG is also a contender. Saliba’s contract in North London expires in three years. He is twenty-three years old.
