Alex Kitata “Benzema” has agreed terms to join Ethiopia Premier League side Sehul Shire FC according to sources coming in.
Kitata is leaving BUL FC after one season having joined the Jinja based at the start of the season on a two year contract from BUL FC.
He scored 10 league goals and four assists in the 25 games he played and guided BUL FC to a second place finish on the league table.
Besides BUL FC, Kitata previously played for SC Villa, Kitara FC, The Saints, UPDF FC and had a stint in Rwanda with Kiyovu Sports.
The other two Ugandan players who were once part of Sehul Shire’s squad are goalkeeper Brian Bwete Zigi and attacker Yasser Mugerwa.
Due to the civil unrest in the Tigray area, three clubs, including Sehul Shire, were barred from the Ethiopian Premier League in 2021.
He is expected to work in Ethiopia alongside other Ugandan athletes such as Charles Lukwago, Charles Musiige, Simon Peter Oketch, Alionzi Nafian, Geoffrey Wasswa, and Allan Kayiwa.
