Police and Soltilo Bright Stars vie for first win in Kavumba Derby

September 24, 2024

Tuesday, September 24, marks the Kavumba derby between Police FC and Soltilo Bright Stars, where the two teams will be vying for their first victory of the year.
This season, the Cops have played to two goalless draws after losing to Mbarara City at Kakyeka and BUL FC at Kavumba.

In contrast, Soltilo Bright Stars lost their most recent match 1-0 against URA FC at Kavumba and drew with the Wakiso Giants at Wakisha.

Head coach of Police FC Simon Peter Mugerwa is certain that his side has done enough preparation work to be competitive.

“The concentration has been on how to create more chances and seeing how we can score the first goal and go on to get our first maximum points.”

“Our target as the team is to perform well, we do not want to be among the struggling sides.”

Positive outcomes are certainly feasible after working hard on the finishing side, according to his opponent Joseph Mutyaba, the coach of Soltilo Bright Stars.

“Depending on our previous game against URA, we managed to create so many chances which we failed to convert and that has been our main focus in our training sessions so we are hopeful of positive results.”

The arrival of Timothy Muwanguzi and Isaac Ogwang gives the Cops more strength.

Additionally, David Kizza and Fiat Cleophus are back with Soltilo Bright Stars.

In the eighteen previous encounters between the two teams, five have been won by Police, three by Soltilo Bright Stars, and ten have resulted in draws.
