Tanzanian champions Young Africans (Yanga) are in detailed discussions to acquire Uganda Cranes forward Fahad Bayo. Yanga aims to enhance their offensive lineup for the upcoming mid-season transfer window, which is set to open officially on December 15 in Tanzania.
Bayo is currently a free agent after his contract with Czech Republic’s MFK Vyskov came to an end at the close of the last season.
As reported by Sports Arena Tanzania, Bayo is seen as Yanga’s primary target in the forthcoming window to bolster the team for the most challenging phase of the season.
The club’s management is confident that Bayo offers the necessary experience due to his previous stints with Ashdod FC and Bnei Sakhnin in Israel, as well as Vipers and Proline in Uganda and Zambia’s Buildcon.
He has appeared for the Uganda Cranes 21 times, netting eight goals and providing one assist during that period.
Should the negotiations succeed, Bayo will join midfielder Khalid Aucho as another Uganda Cranes player in the Tanzania Premier League powerhouse.
Yanga is also anticipated to resolve their contractual conflict with Ghanaian striker Augustine Okrah after receiving a transfer ban from FIFA.
