Uganda Cranes defender Elio Capradossi has signed with Italian Serie B team AS Cittadella until the season concludes. Capradossi has been without a club since the last season ended when he left Lecco Calcio following the expiration of his contract.
The tall center back was recently excluded from the latest AFCON Qualifiers by Uganda Cranes coach Paul Put due to a lack of competitive play.
He was pursued by various Italian Serie B teams as well as prime clubs in the Romanian Liga.
Capradossi, who was born in Uganda to a Congolese mother and Italian father, made his debut for the Uganda Cranes this year against Botswana during the World Cup Qualifiers.
Despite having represented Italy in youth national teams, he has earned four caps with the Uganda Cranes.
Capradossi has also played for AS Roma, Bari, Spezia, Cagliari, SPAL, and Cagliari in the past.
Currently, AS Cittadella, his new team, is positioned at the second-to-last spot on the Serie B standings, having accumulated 12 points after 14 matches.
