In a Uganda Premier League match on Sunday at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso, KCCA FC triumphed over the Wakiso Giants with a score of 2-1, marking their return to form. Under the management of Abdallah Mubiru, the team had experienced a streak of four consecutive losses but found success thanks to goals from Emmanuel Angama and Etienne Katenga.
Katenga opened the scoring for the visitors in the 14th minute, but Hudson Mbalire restored the lead for the Purple Sharks in the 26th minute. The decisive moment came in the 57th minute when Anyama, who came off the bench, secured a disputed victory for the Kasasiro Boys.
James Alitho, the goalkeeper for the Wakiso Giants, seemed to have thwarted Anyama’s shot, but the assistant referee informed the main referee that the ball had crossed the line. After clinching their win, KCCA FC now sits four points behind league leaders NEC FC, accumulating 22 points.
The Wakiso Giants are currently on a streak of nine matches without a victory as they continue to face difficulties. With just nine points from 12 matches, they remain in the relegation zone.
