The Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat hosted the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final draw on Monday.

The draw was aided by African legends Mustapha Hadji (Morocco), Aliou Cisse (Senegal), Joseph Yobo (Nigeria), and Serge Aurier (Ivory Coast). Along with three-time champion Nigeria, 2004 champion Tunisia, and East African neighbors Tanzania, the Uganda Cranes, returning to the renowned African championship, have been put into Group C.

Uganda is participating in the competition for the ninth time; their best showing was in the 1978 edition, where they came in second to eventual winners Ghana.

In contrast to Tunisia, who will compete in their 22 AFCON finals and having only won once, in 2004, Nigeria, who will be making their 21st appearance, has won the competition three times in 1980, 1994, and 2013.

Record winners Egypt, South Africa, Angola, and Zimbabwe are in Group B, while host country Morocco is in Group A with Mali, Zambia, and Comoros.

Algeria, Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, and Sudan are paired in Group E, while Senegal, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Benin, and Botswana are in Group D.

Group F includes the reigning champions Ivory Coast, Gabon, Mozambique, and Cameroon, who have won five times. Morocco will host the 35th edition of the continental extravaganza from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
