Neymar heaps praise on Rodrygo Goes

Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes has received a lot of praise from Brazil’s superstar Neymar. With 12 goals and nine assists from 32 games in all competitions this season, the 24-year-old has been playing well for Los Blancos.

Last summer, there was conjecture over Rodrygo’s future once Kylian Mbappe arrived. Since then, the Frenchman has been used through the middle, forcing the Brazilian to play right forward.

Rodrygo has started 26 games for the La Liga powerhouses this season and has so far held his own. Even though he still has a contract with Real Madrid through 2028, his efforts have drawn interest from several clubs throughout the continent.

The Brazilian forward played the entire ninety minutes on Wednesday as Los Blancos defeated Manchester City 3-1 in the second leg of the Champions League playoffs. Even his compatriot Neymar praised Rodrygo for setting up Mbappe’s second goal of the evening. The Santos star shared his message on social media. He wrote: “How this kid plays is a joke!.”

This summer, the former Barcelona forward moved to Santos from Al Hilal. To entice Rodrygo away from Real Madrid, the Saudi club reportedly offered a €300 million package, which included a €140 million salary.

It appears that the player was chosen to take Neymar’s place. But they have been rejected by Rodrygo and Los Blancos.
