Uganda Cranes defensive midfielder Khalid Aucho has penned a new deal at his Tanzanian club Young Africans aka Yanga FC.
Aucho who is the vice captain of the Cranes signed a two year deal running until the end of the 2023-24 season.
The midfielder was a key figure for the club last season as they clinched the league title.
He registered 2 goals in the league plus another in the Federation Cup.
Aucho also also had several assists in a somewhat impressive debut season.
With the Jangwani Giants having signed him from Egyptian outfit Misr El Makkasa, Aucho showed class in the middle of the Park thus this reward.
The club is looking to retain their league title as they sit top of the league with 50 points from 19 games.
They have 6 points more than their closest rivals and second placed Simba.
In the CAF Confederations Cup, Yanga is in group D alongside
TP Mazembe (DR Congo), US Monastir (Tunisia) and AS Real Bamako (Mali).
Meanwhile Aucho has played for several clubs such as Simba in Uganda, Tusker and Gor Mahia in Kenya, Serbian sides Red Star Belgrade and OFK Beograd and East Bengal and Churchill Brothers of India.
