Vipers reportedly set to hire former Uganda Cranes coach

December 30, 2022

Sources coming in indicate that the reigning Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC are set to hire former Uganda Cranes coach.

And this is none other than Sébastien Desabre.

The Frenchman is reportedly set to sign a 3 year deal in order to fill the vacant void left by Brazilian tactician Robertinho.

Robertinho officially left his position yesterday as confirmed by the Kitende club.

Sources have it that the Uganda Premier League and Stanbic Uganda cup winning coach is set to join Tanzanian giants Simba SC.

Meanwhile Desabre is a common face in Uganda after leading the country to the AFCON twice back to back.

He first coached the Cranes in 2017 at the Gabon AFCON having replaced Micho.

Desabre then again led the Cranes to the AFCON to the 2019 AFCON held in Egypt.

From here, he went on to coach Egyptian side, Pyramids.

He’s also coached a number of African teams such as Esperance, Wydad Casablanca, Cotton Sport, JS Saoura among others.

Currently the 46 year old is the coach of the DR Congo national team nicknamed the Leopards.

Desabre left a much loved figure in Uganda especially because of the beautiful football the Cranes played under his reign.

This is something that fans have always referred to whenever they watch Micho’s side which plays quite the opposite.
