Uganda Premier League side Maroons FC have reportedly suspended 10 players over indiscipline.
This is after these failed to show up to a team meeting that was scheduled for Monday 3rd January 2023.
These have been suspended for about one week
The statement from the club says that these will only return when official training resumes.
Besides, further punishment might be instituted as per the club’s code of ethics and conduct.
“We therefore inform you that they have been suspended from the club’s activities for a period of 1 week effective the date of the resumption of training.”
“Further displinary measures may be instituted as per the club Ethics and Code of Conduct, We emphasise strict adherence to team programs and rules for the betterment of our club.” Read part of the letter that suspended the players.
The suspended players include goalkeepers Simon Tamale and Amir Nalugoda, Patrick Bayiga, Belmos Opio, Brian Nkuubi, Sula Mpanga, Hadadi Kambuugu, Andrew Samson Kigozi, Abraham Tusubira and Solomon Walusimbi.
None of these players communicated the reason as to why they missed the meeting.
Maroons are currently in the 10th position with 15 points from 14 games.
Nickamed the Prison Warders, Maroons will resume their UPL season with a trip to Jinja to take on Busoga United on 10th February.
