Ugandan veteran defender Shafik Bakaki has signed for Rwandese side Musanze FC.
The defender joins Musanze after leaving Uganda Premier League side Gaddafi Modern FC where he’s played for just 6 months.
Bakaki was unveiled alongside Nigerian and Burundian internationals Nicholas Ashade Ayomide and Yasser Arafat Tuyisenge respectively.
The move makes him the second Ugandan at the club after Ben Ocen.
Bakaki rose to prominence while playing for Express.
He went on to feature for for Vipers and then SC Villa where he had two stints.
The defender also played for Zambian side Nkana FC.
His new club currently occupy the 9th spot on the 16 team table.
They have collected 22 points from games amd are 8 points off the top.
They will play Rayon Sports next who are in the 5th position.
There are several Ugandans now currently playing in the Rwandese league.
These include among others the likes of Benson Muhindo, Yafesi Mubiru, Juma Ssebaduka, Pius Wangi, Nicholas Kagaba, Brian Ssali, Robert Mukoghotya, Nicholas Ssebwato, Musa Esenu, Erisa Ssekisambu, Satro Edward, Muzamiru Mutyaba, Muwadda Mawejje, John Musasizi.
