KCCA FC have returned meaning business in the second round of the Uganda Premier League.
This is after narrowly edging Wakiso Giants by 1-0 in a fierce encounter at the Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium.
The Kasasiro boys started the game in high gear and Rogers Mato proved to be a problem for the Purple Sharks.
Wakiso Giants also kept pressing for an opener but in vain.
It was KCCA who broke the deadlock in the one additional minute of the first half with a beautiful strike from none other than Rogers Mato.
Allan Okello saw his free kick saved by Wakiso Giants’ Kirya after a foul on Kakonde by Paul Willa in the second half.
Kirya was again called into action after Brian Majwega almost doubled KCCA’s lead with a powerful low short.
Morley Byekwaso made his first change in the 71st minute as he subbed off Allan Okello for Moses Waiswa.
Wakiso Giants almost equalized in the 76th minute but Derrick Ochan stepped up to deny Moses Aliro.
The hosts came again close to finding an equalizer but Derrick Ochan made a brilliant save to deny Kimbowa in the 89th minute.
There was nothing much John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda’s side could do to stop the leaders from taking maximum points back to Kampala.
