Left back Ibrahim Juma has spoken put after the Uganda Hippos were ejected out of the AFCON U20 tournament.

The Nigerians scored in the 30th minute through an own goal by Ibrahim Juma.

Through a quick counterattack, Nigeria’s Mohammed struck the ball which hit the post and rebounded off the CD Leganes player.

Taking to his Twitter page, Juma said that he’s absolutely gutted that they didn’t manage to bring glory back home.

The former KCCA player proceeded to thank fans both home and at the games.

“I can’t explain how I feel today, but we gave everything out there and we really wish we could have brought it home for you all this time. I just wanted to say a genuine thank you to our Ugandan fans, you’ve all been amazing both at the games and at home this tournament.”

The Uganda Hippos missed the opportunity of being one of Africa’s representatives at the U20 World Cup in Indonesia between May-June.

Nigeria joined Senegal as the two countries to confirm their participation in the U20 AFCON tournament semi-finals in Egypt.

This also automatically means that they sealed their places at the U20 World Cup.

Gambia will today play South Sudan while Congo take on Tunisia in the other remaining quarter final games.
