AFCON U-20: Nigeria wins Bronze for their third time

The Flying Eagles (Nigeria) won the TotalEnergies AFCON U-20 Bronze after defeating Tunisia 4-0 at Cairo International Stadium yesterday on 10th March.

Ibrahim Mohammad silenced all the Tunisians as early in the 9th minute of the first half.

The half time could end 1-0 as both teams were more defensively and could not create more goal scoring opportunities.

Earlier in the 46th minute of the second half, Ahmed Abdullahi netted, 2 minutes later his team mate Jude Sunday scored before he completed his brace in the 90th minute.

Tunisia looked average defensively and offensively as they couldn’t respond from the two early second half goals but only to Concede the 4th.

To reach this path, Nigeria eliminated Uganda Hippos in Quarter finals though they lost the Semi final game to Gambia.

Tunisia on the other hand defeated Brazzaville in Quarter though lost to Senegal in Semi.

Nigeria won their third Bronze medal and the first one eversince 2015.

Finals will be featured today on 11th March as Senegal will be taking in Gambia at Suez canal Stadium.

All this 4 Countries that reached Semis will have to represent Africa in the upcoming FIFA World Cup U-20.
