Gianni Infantino re-elected as FIFA President till 2027

Gianni Infantino has been re-elected as FIFA President for his second term till 2017.
Today on Thursday 16th March, he stood unopposed at the 73rd congress in Kigali, Rwanda.
Gianni Infantino’s first term came in 2019 when he was elected by the FIFA Congress in Qatar.
However before 2019, Infantino was already appointed FIFA president in 2016 replacing Joseph Sepp Blatter whose term hadn’t yet gotten over.
Joseph Blatter had become a disgrace and FIFA thought he had nothing to add on to the federation.
Infantino promised on continuing to serve FIFA in his new term.
“Being FIFA President is an incredible honour, an incredible privilege “.
“It is also a great great responsibility. lam truly humbled and touched by your support. l promise you l will continue serving FIFA, serving football all over the world serving all 212 member associations of FIFA”.
