Ugandan Defender Igga Dickson Joins UPSL Team In The USA

Ugandan-born right-back, Igga Dickson has officially joined United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) team, Isthmus City FC in the United States of America.

Igga who played in the Uganda Regional League before flying to the US, will be playing with Isthmus City FC in the UPSL Midwest Central Conference.

Isthmus City FC is based in Madison City, Wisconsin State and will be competing with teams from Chicago Illinois and Indiana state.

Isthmus City FC have been training indoors due to winter but, moved outdoors as winter clears.

In preparation for the new season, Isthmus City FC will have a Madison Soccer Association match before the UPSL season kickoff.

Igga Dickson, equipped with energy, skill and hunger is eager to play his first competitive football in the US as he aims to achieve success with Isthmus City FC.

Igga Dickson played in the 2011 Copa Coca Cola in Arua with Bishop McAllister College Kyogyera.

At the University level, he played for Bishop Stuart University (BSU) in the Inter university Football League and National Beach Soccer League.

He also played for Bushenyi United FC, Bwizibwera FC, Igongo SC, Bwizibwera United FC, Mbarara FC in the Uganda Region League.

While in school, he also competed in Kyamugambi Cup with Rutooma SS, Katonene Cup with Bishop McAllister College Kyogyera, Tusiime Cup with Bp. Stuart University and Mbarara Iddi Cup with Sacred FC.

In Ankole District Cup he scored two crucial 2 goals for Mbarara District.

Isthmus City FC managers gave me a chance to express my skills and abilities. As a defender you have to make sure you don’t concede goals and that helps the team build on to score and win matches. We are training hard, I’m in good shape and anxious to play in the United Premier Soccer League.

When asked about his expectations in the upcoming UPSL season, Igga revealed that he is determined to help Isthmus City FC win the title.
