English man and Arsenal wide man Bukayo Saka is set to become the English Premier League table leaders’ highest earner following a contract he’s set to sign.

Saka has just one year left on his contract and he’s been a target of a couple of top European clubs.

According to transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano, two clubs in England and one outside Europe have been monitoring Saka’s situation.

However, his priority has been to stay in North London with the Gunners.

Sources have it now that the Hale End academy graduate will become the current highest earner.

Saka who has been impressive for Arsenal since breaking into the first team in 2018 has been an integral part of Mikel Arteta‘s side this season.

He’s so far netted 12 goals and 13 assists in the EPL.

Saka has made 169 appearances and won 2 player of the season awards for the Gunners.

This long term contract will put him above Arsenal’s current highest earner Gabriel Jesus.

The other top earners include Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey, Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Club captain Martin Odegaard, Swiss captain Granit Xhaka, Ben White and others follow suit.

The proposed deal will see Saka earn about £288,000 a week.

“Saka is close to agreeing a new contract with Arsenal worth a minimum of £10million per year (just over £192,000-a-week). Yet it is claimed he will actually receive nearly £15m per year thanks to bonuses and other add-ons,” the Mirror reported.

Mesut Ozil however remains Arsenal-‘s highest earner ever.

The former Real Madrid player was raking in £350,000-a-week salary before falling out with the club.

However most of the Arsenal players who have signed new bumper contracts have always turned put to flop.

A case in point is former captain Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil.
