Kitara, Mbarara City FC confirms place in Startimes Uganda Premier League next season

Both FUFA Big League sides Kitara and Mbarara City are the only clubs confirmed yet in Uganda Premier League next season.

Kitara was in need of 1 win in their two last games in order to be confirmed promoted and so have their got it.

On Thursday, Kitara FC defeated Adjuman TC FC 3-0 at Paridi Stadium.

Paul Mucureezi, George Senkaaba and Paddy Muhumuza all appeared on the score sheet for the Hoima based side.

The result means Kitara maintained their top seat with 58 points with 1 game remaining.

Their last game in FUFA Big league will be against Kaaro Karungi and a win will see them become Champions of 2022/2023 FUFA Big League title.

On the other side, Mbarara City who got relegated last season in Uganda Premier League today confirmed their returning after their 2-0 win over rivals Kaaro Karungi.

Henry Kitegenyi and Captain Jude Ssemugabi scored for the Ankole lions.

The results means Mbarara City maintained their Second place to 57 points, they will have to win their last game and pray for Kitara’s last results to go other way for them to win the FUFA Big League title.

Other teams still fighting for Promotion are NEC and Police.

NEC are third with 54 points while Police are fourth with 53 points, one team to join the other two already confirmed teams will be confirmed on the last day.
