Onduparaka’s 7 year stint in the UPL comes to an end
May 17, 2023
Arua based side Onduparaka became the first side to be relegated from this season’s Uganda Premier League (UPL). This is after they lost 1-0 to Maroons at the Prison Grounds in Luzira.
Darius Ojok’s strike in the 20th minute was the final nail in the coffin for the Caterpillars. Onduparaka have 16 points which they have collected from 26 games. Even if they were to win their remaining games, they wouldn’t match the point tally of their closest rivals.
These are Busoga United and Blacks Power who all own their games. Blacks Power beat Gaddafi 3-2 while Busoga United beat Arua Hill 4-1.
This means that Onduparaka who created some ever lasting memories seven years in top flight football came to an end. Now the battle remains amongst Blacks Power (23 points), UPDF (26 points) and Busoga United (27) points to see who joins Onduparaka in the remaining 2 games.
