Uganda Premier League title race becomes tight as all contenders win

The race for this season’s Uganda Premier League title just got tighter. This is after all the three clubs vying for the title won their games.
Vipers ran riot at Kitende as they naailed 5 past Express. Goals from Bright Anukani, Milton Karisa, Yunus Ssenatmu and a brace from former URA player, Cromwell Rwothomio set the Venoms on the path of reclaiming their title.
Express‘ goals were scored by Joseph Akandwanaho and Marvin Oshaba.
At the Philip Omondi stadium in Lugogo, KCCA FC edged BUL FC by a goal to nil. This was a penalty scored by Allan Okello min the first half.
The pacy and tricky winger was fouled in the box and the ref pointed to the spot. This decision was contested by BUL players. Okello however stepped and converted the spot kick.
Another title contender, SC Villa were also in action in Bombo taking on UPDF. The Jogoos won by 2-0 to keep sights on the league title they haven’t won in years.
Goals from Gift Ali and Charles Bbale sent Jackson Magera’s side dreaming as they managed to keep on course with both Vipers and KCCA.
Well these wins for these three teams left all of them on 49 points. Vipers however remains on top as they have a huge goal difference which they even bettered yesterday.
With two games to the climax of the season, Villa will host Blacks Power on Tuesday. On the same day Vipers will take a trip to Jinja to take on BUL FC. KCCA will be in the same area being hosted by Busoga United. All clubs have no room for error at this stage as they know what is at stake.
