Vipers forward Milton Karisa named 2022 Ugandan best footballer

Vipers winger and captain Milton Karisa has been named the USPA 2022 Nile Male footballer of the year.

Karisa tool to his social media pages to express his appreciation on being named the best footballer.

He added that the award is as a result of team effort because he couldn’t have won it alone.

“It is a great feeling to receive the title of ‘Footballer of The Year 2022’ from@USPAmedia. Thank you for recognising how hard I have been working.I admit it was a team effort as I certainly could not have made it without my fellow colleagues,coaches and all the administrators. I am sure our supporters are as grateful as I am for this level of recognition.I hope I continue to prove myself an asset to the team. Thank you dear fans for the beautiful support,” said the Vipers skipper.

Karisa was an integral part of his club as they won the league and finished runners up in the Stanbic Uganda cup.

Furthermore, the winger also played a crucial role for the Uganda Cranes in a promising CHAN tournament.

However it was cut short as they couldn’t progress from the groupstages.

Karisa has continued to be helpful for Vipers.

However his season was hampered by injuries and he couldn’t help his team to earn qualification from the CAF Champions League groupstages.

This was Vipers first time to qualify for the continental showpiece.

Meanwhile Jacob Kiplimo won the sports personality of the month.
