Police FC became the first side to reach this year’s Stanbic Uganda Cup finals after they knocked out Adjumani TC FC on away goals rule.
The Kops came into the game with a one goal advantage after having won the first leg 1-0 at Kavumba Recreational Grounds.
Adjumani however won the second leg with a 2-1 score. It was however Police FC who took the lead as the first half ended through Samuel Kayongo.
However, Adjumani turned things around in the second half as Basani Safi and Sadiq Nasru netted for the hosts.
The score was however not enough for the home side. Police advanced to the finals after a 2-2 aggregate score and the away goals rule worked in their favor.
The Kampala based side however had to finish the game with 10 men after their goalkeeper Faisal Kanene was given his marching orders.
In the other fixture, Vipers hold an upper hand over Soltilo Bright Stars. The Venoms won the first leg with 4-0 score.
The two sides will clash next week on 30th May to see who proceeds to the final to face with Police.
