Cristiano Ronaldo single handedly transforming Saudi Pro League
May 31, 2023
When Cristiano Ronaldo said the records and news follow him, he surely meant it. After a glamorous and glittering career in Europe, Ronaldo moved to the Saudi Pro League after being let off by Manchester United after the explosive interview with Piers Morgan.
He has surely put up some impressive stats in the desert league. Despite all this, his side fell short of the league title after their rivals Al Ittihad won it.
It should be noted that the Saudi Pro League is ranked 66th in the world. Ronaldo during a recent interview said that this league will soon be becoming one of the top leagues in the world.
It seems soon his prophecy will be coming true after the latest events. A couple of renowned players seem to be heading to the Middle East.
After their contract expiring at Barcelona, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets are on the radar of Saudi clubs.
Further Lionel Messi is yet to decide what’s next for his future. The World Cup winner has had an offer from Al Hilal since April that would make him the highest paid football player on earth. It is said to be a 2 year deal worth a billion dollars.
However, Barcelona are also looking forward to landing him back to Catalonia.
“Lionel Messi wants to make a decision on his future in the next days. #Messi It does NOT guarantee that Messi will announce his new club in few days — but wants to pick future club ASAP. No official bid from Barça yet due to FFP. Al Hilal bid remains the same since April.”
After his contract expiring at Juventus, another Argentinean, Angela Di Maria is also said to be on the radar of Saudi clubs.
However, his priority is to keep playing in Europe and Benefica is said to be working on enticing him back to the club.
Now the latest info shows that Real Madrid and French forward Karim Benzema is the latest to receive a tempting offer from Saudi.
The current Ballon D’or holder was supposed to sign a new deal at Real Madrid. However, it’s said that he’s seriously considering the Saudi offer.
“Karim Benzema received the official bid from Saudi club last week, it was before the game vs Sevilla. #Benzema He’s discussing that together with his camp and family, Real Madrid informed and still ready to sign his new deal until June 2024 in case Karim wanted to stay.”
And without a doubt the Saudi Pro League has been made more entertaining and lucrative by Ronaldo’s move to Al Nassr.
