Lionel Messi’s number 10 Barca jersey outweighs Ansu Fati

Spanish born attacker Ansu Fati was one of the brightest talents in world football and no wonder he inherited the iconic number 10 Barcelona jersey shortly after Lionel Messi sudden unfortunate departure to PSG in 2021.

Ansu Fati put up several brilliant performances but an injury to him didn’t leave him the same. Since then he has struggled for game time under Xavi Hernandez‘s side.

Apparently now, Fati is headed to English Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion. This will be a one year loan deal with no option to buy.

Tottenham Hotspurs is also said to have discussed this possibility with Barca. However, since Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson is their priority, Fati accepted De Zerbi’s Brighton as his next destination for the 2023-24 season.

The Seagulls will cover the major part of Fati’s salary. A medical for the 20 year old will be conducted on Thursday before the transfer deadline on 1st September.
