Arsenal look like their season is already getting jinxed by injuries following a worrying injury on Gabriel Martinelli. The Brazilian limped out in the first half during the clash with Everton at Goodison Park.

Martinelli was replaced by Leandro Trossard who ended up being the Gunners match winner as they cracked the Toffees in the 69th minute following a corner masterpiece.

Well nows indicate that Gabriel Martinelli’s injury could be a worrisome one as he’s set to be sidelined for some time. This is unfortunate as the Gunners have crucial fixtures coming up.

Mikel Arteta’s side go up bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspurs in the North London derby on super Sunday. Prior to that, they will begin their UEFA Champions League campaign against PSV at the Emirates on Wednesday.

“He [Martinelli] felt something, he felt it in his hammy [hamstring] so he will need to be assessed,” said Arteta.

The Gunners are already having several injuries including Thomas Partey and Jurrien Timber a long term absentee.

Meanwhile Arteta also pointed out why he started new goalkeeper David Raya ahead of English goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. This was a surprise inclusion and the Spaniard explained why.

According to Arteta, there is no problem and it’s just a team rotation that will happen more often.

“Trust me — it’s like playing Fabio Vieira or Eddie Nketiah… it is nothing different”. #AFC “I have 11 players to pick and no-one is different”.

The Everton win which came after 5 years saw Arsenal move to 4th place on 13 points the same as Tottenham and Liverpool. They are all 2 behind Manchester City who are the only club with a one hundred percent record in the league so far.
