Egyptian footballer Mohammed Salah has come out to speak about the ongoing Israel-Gaza war that has so far claimed tens of people on both sides but more especially the Palestinians.
According to Mo Salah it’s always very difficult to speak up during such difficult times. However, humanitarian aid needs to be allowed to be sent to the people of Gaza.
This is because they need water, food, medical supplies among other things. The footballer added that the brutality amd escalation of this war is just too hard to watch.
Besides it has torn apart families and doesn’t look to be on the verge of ending. Furthermore, the 32 year old appealed to world leaders to come together and devise a solution to end this war.
“It’s always difficult to speak in such times but the ongoing incidents in the region are horrifying to watch. The brutality and escalation is too much and innocent lives are losing their lives daily. Last night’s hospital bombing was so horrifying. Humanitarian aid in form of food and medical supplies must be accessed by the people of Gaza. I’m calling upon world leaders to come together and find a solution for peace. Humanity must prevail,” said the Liverpool attacker.
Hopefully Mo Salah won’t get punished by Liverpool for his comments. Most clubs are coming out to suspend their players for taking sides in this conflict especially those siding with Palestine.
OG Nice suspended Algerian defender Youcef Atal over this issue. Egyptian striker Anwar El Ghazi was also suspended by his German club, Mainz 04.
However, players such as Oleksandr Zinchenko and Manor Solomon who have openly expressed support for Israel haven’t faced any punishment
