Here is Erling Halaand’s Reaction Following Manchester City Draw Against Tottenham Hotspurs
December 4, 2023
Manchester City striker Erling Halaand reacted to referee Simon Hooper’s officiating in the thrilling 3-3 draw with Tottenham Hotspurs at the Etihad stadium. Pep Guardiola’s fell behind after a brilliant counterattack from Spurs.
Heung Min Son ran past Jeremy Doku thumping the ball past Ederson Morales. However, a few seconds later, Son equalised for Man City after an own goal through a City free kick.
The first half ended 2-1 in favour of the hosts after Phil Foden was brilliantly assisted by Julian Alvarez. Apparently the Citizens could have ended the first 45 with but misfired.
Giovanni Lo Celso equalised for Ange Postecoglu’s in the 69th minute. City thought that they had won the game after Jack Grealish netted in the 81st minute after a Yves Bissouma era.
But the north Londoners had one more in wardrobe as Dejan Kulusevski equalised in the 90th minute. The Champions thought they were winning it when Jack Grealish was through on goal.
Erling Halaand for fouled but got up quickly and the ref waved game on as fair play. But as the former Aston Villa was making it towards goal, Simon Hooper called play back for a foul.
This angered Manchester City players, coaching staff and fans. Halaand too took to his X page to comment about this incident and couldn’t believe it.
Apparently, it’s being reported that the Norwegian striker risks being punished by the FA for attacking the ref.
