Kitara Dubiously Loses To Vipers. Uganda Premier league side Kitara FC dubiously lost their away game to Vipers SC under controversial circumstances. The game played under the floodlights at St Mary’s Kitende saw Kitara take an early lead through Jude Ssemugabi.
Bright Anukani levelled matters for the champions before halftime via a penalty kick. Shortly after the second half resumed, Anukani added a second and the Venoms took the lead.
Apparently, this game dragged on till the additional minutes when Kitara scored an equaliser through a free kick. However, the goal was wrongly called off for an offside by the lines man.
This led to an outburst of anger between the Kitara players and the traveling fans. Additionally, the players had to calm down the fans to prevent an outbreak of violence.
Eventually a game that could habe ended in a stalemate saw Vipers walk away with 3 points because of poor officiation.
Now Vipers is just two points off the top with 23 points. BUL tops the log with 25 while NEC and Kitara are in third and fourth consequently with 19 points.
