Georgio Chiellini Retires From Playing Football. Italian defender, Georgio Chiellini has called time on his football career as he hang up his boots.

By the time of his retirement, Chiellini was 39 years old and playing for Los Angeles FC which he joined last year and made 31 appearances. Considered one of the best defenders of his generation, he started his career in the Livorno youth team before joining the senior team in 2000.

Later he moved to AS Roma in 2002 but was loaned back to Livorno for two years. He never made any appearance for Roman and he got sold to Juventus which also loaned him to Fiorentina where he made 37 appearances in one year.

It was at Juventus that he became a legend and won multiple trophies. Apparently Chiellini played 425 games for the Old Lady from 2004-2022 and scored 27 goals. In total, he played 548 club games scoring 35 goals.

Furthermore, the defender played 117 games for the Italian national team, the Azzuri and netted 8 goals. Besides, he won the 2020 EUROS with Italy after defeating England. Unfortunately, he wasn’t part of the 2006 Italian team that won the World Cup.
