Mikel Arteta provides Bukayo Saka injury update ahead of Brighton clash

April 4, 2024

Bukayo Saka injury. With a 2-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium over Luton, Arsenal enjoyed the ideal evening and returned to the top of the Premier League. The focus swiftly shifted to upcoming bouts as the Gunners were allowed to switch sides and still had much too much for the Hatters.

Mikel Arteta will now need to focus on helping his team recover even more as they prepare to travel to Brighton on Saturday. Tough home games are also in the horizon, along with away and home games versus Bayern Munich.

The lack of Bukayo Saka was the one concern that came from north London. Saka was left out of the starting lineup completely, in contrast to Declan Rice, Jorginho, and Gabriel Martinelli, who were all on the bench but made cameos throughout the game. Many people will be watching to see if he recovers in the upcoming days after hobbling off the field against Manchester City on Sunday.

Saka was substituted late in the match against Manchester City, hobbling off the pitch with a physiotherapist by his side. After the game and before Luton, Arteta brushed down concerns despite the attacker practicing before the encounter.

Due to his inability to finish all of the training exercises on Tuesday, he was advised to sit this one out as a precaution. He traveled with the team to the match.

Arteta said that : “He was close but again he felt something in a very similar area against City and it was a very short turnaround. Hopefully he’ll be able to train again and we can have him for the weekend.”
