The 2024 Senior Challenge Cup has been canceled, as confirmed by the Council for East and Central Africa Football (CECAFA).
This year’s senior national men’s teams competition was slated to take place in Zanzibar from late June to July 14.
According to CECAFA’s most recent update, the event has been canceled.
“The CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup 2024 which was meant to open the CECAFA calendar from June 29th to July 14th has also been cancelled to give players more time to prepare with their teams ahead of the CECAFA Kagame Cup.”
In 2019, the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup will take place in Kampala, where it was previously hosted five years ago. In the most recent CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup final, Uganda, the hosts, defeated Eritrea 3-0.
