Shocking details for European clubs over AC Milan winger Rafael Leao

Portuguese footballer Rafael Leao has emerged as one of the best players this season in Europe. The winger has lit up Serie A and the UEFA Champions League with his sublime performances.

A number of clubs have since been monitoring his situation at the Milan based club as his contract neared completion. Some of the clubs that have been monitoring his situation include Chelsea, PSG, Manchester United among others.

It however seems the player will be staying in Milan for a couple more years., This has been confirmed by the Rossoneri’s director Paolo Maldini. The former Milan captain said the contract will be valid until June 2028.

Apparently Leao will get a higher salary. Maldini also said that it hasn’t been easy but everything has now been agreed.

“Rafael Leão will sign a new deal valid until June 2028 as salary will be around €5m plus add-ons. #ACMilan AC Milan director Paolo Maldini: “We are very close. We agreed also on the final details. It was not easy but we’re set to get it signed”.

Leao was not present in Milan’s Champions League derby against Inter Milan. The red side of Milan lost the game 2-0. Inter scored two quick first half goals from Edin Dzeko and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Stefano Pioli will be hoping to have his star player back by the return leg next week at the Giuseppe Meaza stadium.
