Vipers Bright Anukani’s goal against Bright Stars voted by FIFA for Puskas Award

The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has given a nod to Bright Stars forward Bright Anukani‘s goal against Soltilo Bright stars a nod for the FIFA Puskas award.

This award is always given to the best goal in a season. It has been won by some renowned footballers along the years such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Olivier Giroud among others.

Anukani struck a wonderful goal from halfway the pitch to give Vipers their fourth goal in the Stanbic Uganda cup semi final first leg.

The Venoms went ahead to triumph to the finals of the tournament on a 5-1 aggregate.

FIFA went ahead to list other scintillating goals scored in the month of May. The award however will most likely be given out next year so there is still a long away.

Speaking about his goal, Anukani said that “Thank you to everyone who helped me achieve this much recognition @VipersSC @OfficialFUFA. I’m confident this is a great inspiration to many youth in #Uganda and #Africa.”

This year’s award was won Marcin Oleksy. Oleksy scored an incredible goal for the Warta Poznan amputee football team in their win against Stal Rzeszow in November.
