Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola laughed at Manchester United’s Premier League title challenge while addressing the press ahead of City’s UEFA Champions League campaign.
When asked about the clubs that pose a huge threat to Manchester City’s hopes of retaining the League title, Guardiola mentioned Mikel Arteta‘s Arsenal and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
He said that both Arsenal and Liverpool look like very strong contenders.
You know how strong Arsenal is. They are exceptional. Liverpool they are back where they belong and the mentality is continued there, ” said Pep as he let out a giggle at the mention of United being in the title race.
It should be noted that the league has just gone 5 games with City the only team to win all 5 games. Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspurs and Arsenal are also still unbeaten though with a dra each.
Manchester United on the hand has just 2 wins from the 5 and has lost the other 3. Things don’t seem to be good for Erik Ten Hag as they club has been embroiled in many controversies.
With Mason Greenwood having been loaned to Getafe following his domestic violence charges, Antony has seen himself accused of assault too. Jadon Sancho clashed with his coach and has been sidelined.
The Red Devils also have several injuries with players such as Sofyan Amrabat, Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane, Mason Mount, Tyrrell Malacia all out with injuries.
