Paris St Germain coach Luis Enrique has come out to name the current best player in the world and it’s not Lionel Messi. The Spanish coach after PSG’s opening 2-0 win against Borussia Dortmund heaped praise on Kylian Mbappe.
Enrique said that Mbappe is without a doubt the best player in the world right now. The Frenchman netted 1 goal coming from the penalty spot.
This took his tally to to 41 goals from 62 Champions League games at just 24 years. Mbappe is now the third Frenchman score 35 and above UCL goals for the same team.
Karim Benzema leads the list with 78 for Real Madrid while Thierry Henry has 35 for Arsenal. According to Enrique, Mbappé’ has just more than good technical skills.
He’s more humane than most people can imagine. Besides the PSG all time top scorer is also a leader who always has a smile on his face. And it’s a pleasure to have him in the dressing room.
“Kylian Mbappé is the best player in the world, trust me. More than his technical skills, what has impressed me is his human quality. It’s a pleasure to have him in dressing room — he’s a leader who always has a smile on his face,” said Luis Enrique.
It should be noted that Enrique at Barcelona saw one of the best versions of Lionel Messi. “In 105 league appearances under Luis Enrique, Messi netted 106 goals – scoring every 84.29 minutes on average – provided 43 assists and created a total of 251 chances.”
