Arsenal’s move for Nigerian striker Victor Oshimen hinges on Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules and risks being blocked by it. The Gunners strikers have been firing black and lack consistency.
Often times, the Gunners have had to rely on goals from elsewhere than their strikers, Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah. Sources state that the Gunners have developed a strong interest in Napoli striker Victor Oshimen.
Napoli however won’t budge for their most prized asset anyone looking to buy the 25 year old might have to fork out over £100m. Despite having a year left and not looking to renew his contact, the Nigerian won’t come cheaply.
But with the recent toughening of FFP rules by the Premier League which saw Everton docked 12 points, the Gunners will have to be smart. That’s if in case they go for the 2022-23 Serie A top scorer.
Arsenal already signed Brentford goalkeeper David Raya on loan with an option to buy. This was done in order not to violate the FFP rules. Mikel Arteta’s side will therefore be busy in the coming transfer window.
They are alarm heavily linked with Aston Villa midfielder, Douglas Luiz. Apparently, Villa coach formerly an Arsenal manager said that the Brazilian is not for sale.
Additionally Arsenal’s move for Nigerian striker Victor Oshimen will depend on how best they balance their financial books.
