Algeria to miss another star player in World Cup qualifying match against Uganda
June 10, 2024
In their World Cup qualifying match against the Uganda Cranes on Monday, June 10th, under the floodlights of Mandela National Stadium in Namboole, Algeria will be without their assistant captain, Yacine Brahimi.
Brahimi, who plays for Al Gharafa in Qatar, will be out for the World Cup qualifying match against Paul Put’s team in Group G because of an injury he suffered in Algeria’s 2-1 loss to Guinea.
But the forward went to Uganda with the team.
In addition, Youcef Belaili, Islam Slimani, Riyad Mahrez, and Rami Bensabaini of Borussia Dortmund, who were left out of the Algerian national team’s squad for matches against Guinea and Uganda, will not play for the country.
Prior to the thrilling match on Monday, Algeria arrived in Uganda.
In Group G, Algeria, Uganda, Guinea, and Mozambique are all on six points.
