SC Villa and Umar Lutalo set to reunite

January 31, 2025

This website has learned that Umar Lutalo, a winger for Kitara FC, will be joining his old paymasters, SC Villa. An incredible second tenure at the club is anticipated this transfer window, as this website can exclusively disclose that Lutalo and his representatives have already met with the record league champions.

If the deal goes through, Lutalo, who joined Kitara FC at the beginning of this season on a one-year contract, will rejoin SC Villa after just six months. During his first tenure, the winger helped SC Villa win the Uganda Premier League title in 2023–2024.

Umar Lutalo scored 10 goals in 54 league games during his first stint with the 17-time league champions. The former Aspire Academy player is capable of playing offensive midfield, left wing, and left back. Lutalo has previously played for both the senior national team and the national U20 Team, The Hippos.

This transfer window, SC Villa parted ways with defender Edward Masembe and winger Peter Onzima, while Hakim Kiwanuka joined Rwanda Giants APR FC. With 20 points, Morley Byekwaso’s team ended the first round in eighth place. On February 11, 2025, they will travel to play the Wakiso Giants in the second round.
