February 6, 2023

FUFA Big League side Kitara FC have continued to show how they are prepared to return to top flight football next season.

After suspending headcoach Mark Twinamatsiko for unprofessionalism, the club went ahead to appoint the legendary Sam Ssimbwa as new coach.

Sam Ssimbwa will now be assisted by George Lutalo as the deputy.

Hamza Muwonge was also unveiled as the goalkeeping coach by the Hoima based club.

“We this evening officially unveiled Sam Ssimbwa Bamweyana as our new head coach. He will be assisted by George Lutalo and Hamza Muwonge as the first assistant and goal keeping coaches respectively.”

Meanwhile Nicholas Isaac Ssengoba retained his role as the club’s physiotherapist.

Kitara also in the same vein unveiled their new signings from the January transfer window.

These are Paul Mucureezi from Vipers, George Senkaaba, Godfrey Lwesibawa and Farouk Katongole.

Kitara FC officially unveiling Paul Mucureezi as new player

“The new quartet that joined us during January transfer window (@MucureeziP
, @LwesibawaG
, Farouk Katongole & George Ssenkaba) was unveiled before the fans at the Kigaaya playgrounds before our 3-1 win over Kagadi Utd in a practice match.”

Kitara currently lead the FUFA Big League table standings with 31 points out of 15 games.

They will however have to be wary of their competitors.

This is because they are just one point above Mbarara City, NEC and Police FC who are all on 30 points.
