SC Villa has successfully seen their complaint against their disallowed goal in the Stanbic Uganda cup against BUL FC respected.
FUFA has now ordered for the replay of the round of 32 clash between current holders BUL FC and SC Villa.
Ronald Otti’s goal gave BUL the lead and what would be the eventual winner.
Charles Bbale however netted the equalizer after Joseph Kafumbe’s effort rebounded off the post.
However the linesman Muyanga Khalid flagged the goal for offside despite there being no foul play.
According to FUFA, a report was received from the Referee’s Panel.
And in this Muyanga Khalid acknowledged that he had made an error.
“It’s possible that if the goal was not canceled in the above circumstances, the results would have been different,” reads a decision in part.
“This being a knockout tournament, the cancellation of the goal eliminated the Club from the tournament.
“As a result, such extraordinary factors necesitate a decision to order the two clubs to replay the match.”
Further, FUFA added that “The CDP orders that the Uganda Cup match between BUL and SC Villa be replayed.”
The game will be played at a later date which FUFA will be communicating at Njeru technical centre.
