Napoli finally crowned Serie A champion after 33 years

Napoli have been crowned the champions of the Serie A after a 1-1 draw with Udinese. Luciano Spalleti’s side looked like they had to wait for the party of Champions.
This is after Udinese found the back of the net as early as the 13th minute through Sandi Lovric.
Napoli however leveled matters in the 52nd minute through their Nigerian goalscoring machine, Victor Osimhen.
The Gli Azzurri could have been declared champions on Sunday but they drew 1-1 with Salernitana. This meant that second placed Lazio still had a mathematical chance of winning the Scudetto.
Napoli however now has a 16 point lead at the summit of the Serie A with 5 games remaining.
“I’m happy for all Napoli fans worldwide,” Osimhen said. “No one deserves the Scudetto more than Neapolitans — more than us. I don’t care who scored, I just wanted to get the Scudetto.”
“I want to enjoy this moment for the rest of my life. Then after the season my other dreams can come,” Osimhen continued. “But for now it’s not a time to talk about my other dreams. I wanted to win this.”
“Napoli, this is for you,” coach Spalletti said.
”There are people here who will be able to get through difficult moments in their lives because they remember this moment. These people deserve all.”
No club outside Milan or Turin since Roma in 2001 had won the league title.
The club meanwhile last won the trophy in 1990 led by the late Argentina legend Diego Maradona.
