“FUFA Big league side Kitara FC have confirmed the acquisition of experienced Sam Ssimbwa as their next head coach. Ssimbwa will take over from the suspended Mark Twinamatsiko who led the side to top position during the FUFA Big league first round.”
It should be recalled that the FUFA Big League side suspended Twinamatsiko for internal reasons for a period of 2 months.
However, sources said that he was axed because of unprofessionalism.
He used to select players for match days based on friendship and not merit.
Twinamatsiko also used to insult his players and this was leading to the downfall of the club.
Twinamatsiko led Kitara to the top of the FUFA Big League in the first round of the league.
Ssimbwa who has a wide variety of experience in coaching will therefore be expected to continue this form and lead the club back to the UPL.
He has coached a number of clubs both in Uganda and outside.
The likes of KCCA, Express, Police, SC Villa have all been coached by Ssimbwa.
In his stint abroad, he’s coached clubs such as Simba in Tanzania, Sofapaka in Kenya .
He also coached the Somalia national team in 2012.
