Laliga is not a football league but a league of racists – Vinicius Jr

Real Madrid and Brazil forward Vinicius Jr has branded the Laliga a league that breeds racists. Taking to his social media pages, Vini said that being racially abused in the game against Valencia wasn’t the first nor last time.

It has become a norm in the league and unfortunately Laliga too hasn’t done anything. Besides, the opponents also encourage it.

The Brazilian added that the game which once belonged to football greats such as Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Messi now belongs to a bunch of racists.

Furthermore, Vinicius said that Spain is now known as a racist country outside it’s borders especially in Spain.

He added that however he is strong and will go all the way in fighting racists no matter where they are.

“It wasn’t the first time, nor the second, nor the third. Racism is normal in La Liga. The competition thinks it’s normal, the Federation does too and the opponents encourage it. I’m so sorry. The championship that once belonged to Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Cristiano and Messi today belongs to racists. A beautiful nation, which welcomed me and which I love, but which agreed to export the image of a racist country to the world. I’m sorry for the Spaniards who don’t agree, but today, in Brazil, Spain is known as a country of racists. And unfortunately, for everything that happens each week, I have no defense. I agree. But I am strong and I will go to the end against racists. Even if far from here.”

Vinicius was shown a straight red card in the Real Madrid‘s 1-0 loss to Valencia. The game had to be halted for close to 7 minutes after an incident in which fans called the player a monkey.

A scuffle ensued which required VAR intervention. And after the ref consulting VAR, he showed him a straight red card.

This is not the first time that Vinicius is targeted by racist chants. Laliga has revealed how an investigation has been launched.

“La Liga will also investigate the images in which racist insults were allegedly directed towards Vinicius Jr outside the Mestalla stadium.”

Fellow football players have already come out to show support for the Brazilian. His coach, Carlo Ancelotti also expressed support for the 22 year old.
