FUFA president Eng Moses Magogo is known to be a big fan and friend of current Uganda Cranes boss Milutin Sredojevic aka Micho.
This can partly explain why Magogo is not a big fan of former Cranes coach, Sébastien Desabre.
But to Ugandans, Desabre is without a doubt a more loved figure than Micho.
To Magogo, the current DR Congo coach is just overrated.
“Desabre is overrated,” Magogo stung in a random WhatsApp engagement on Wednesday.
Magogo says that the Frenchman found an already well established and mature team.
This had been well prepared and drilled by his predecessor, Micho according to Magogo.
“He found a mature team that had just been to AFCON (2017) and a stellar 2018 World Cup campaign (qualifiers) by Micho.”
This could as well be a mind game since the Cranes are set to battle DR Congo in the opening game of Group B in the 2023 CHAN tournament.
The Cranes and the Leopards will go head to head on the 14th of January 2023 at the 19 May Stadium, Annaba, Algeria.
Magogo’s comments might not go unnoticed especially as both coaches will be on the opposing side.
Sébastien Desabre took over the Uganda Cranes in 2017 after Micho quit his role.
He coached Uganda in the 2017 AFCON where Micho had already helped the team qualify.
The former Wydad coach again helped the Cranes to a second consecutive AFCON appearance in Egypt this time leading them to the round of 16.
This was whilst playing some good attractive football unlike Micho’s which is hated by most Ugandans and branded ‘mechanical.’
