After being touted as one for the future, Ugandan football player Derrick Kakooza looks to be finding playing outside Uganda very difficult.
He’s now joined Egyptian side ENNPI on a 2 and half year deal.
ENNPI plays in the Egyptian Premier League.
The club currently sits in the 16th position on the table of 18 teams.
They have so far collected 13 points from 16 games.
It should be recalled that Kakooza rose to prominence after emerging the top scorer in the U20 AFCON tournament which was held in Mauritania in 2021.
This is after the Uganda Hippos got beaten 2-0 in the finals by Ghana.
Kakooza subsequently moved to Latvian side Valmiera II
His contract however ran out in 2022 and it wasn’t renewed.
He has been a free agent since then and was slated to join Finnish side KuPs.
He featured for the club that plays in Finland’s league but the transfer didn’t materialize.
Derrick Kakooza will be tasked with helping to save ENNPI from relegation.
