Former Uganda Cranes defender Simeon Masaba has been named by Uganda Premier League side BUL FC as the direct replacement of Alex Isabirye.
It should be recalled that Isabirye was recently named the new head coach of Vipers SC.
This followed the Kitende based side sacking Brazilian tactician Beto Bianchi.
Masaba meanwhile has been the assistant coach of Alex Isabirye at BUL FC.
Apparently Dan Kabaale will deputize for Masaba as he was elevated from the U17 side.
Besides Masaba has also been acting as the assistant coach to Uganda Hippos manager Jackson Mayanja in the recently concluded U20 AFCON.
Meanwhile Simeon Masaba will only be headcoach at BUL FC on an interim basis.
“Hello Eastern Giants Let’s welcome coach Simeon Masaba our Interim coach for the rest of the season.”
He’s worked twice at another UPL side, Onduparaka in similar roles and circumstances.
The ex player was also an assistant coach at URA in October 2020.
He also worked with UPDF and later crossed to Wakiso Giants.
Meanwhile Masaba spent his playing career largely at URA where he was massively successful.
He won the league title in 2011 and the Uganda cup in 2012 and 2014.
The defender also played for SC Villa.
Meanwhile BUL lie third on the table with 29 points from 17 games.
They are also in the Uganda Cup round of 16 after knocking Villa out in the replay of the controversial round of 32 game.
