La Liga names conditions for Lionel Messi to return to Barcelona
April 28, 2023
Speculation has continued to mount over the future of the greatest footballer of time, Lionel Messi’s future. The Argentinean captain’s contract at PSG is set to expire at the end of this season.
Although the Parisienne are desperate and currently doing everything to keep hold of him, it’s not clear what the future holds for him.
There are strong reports linking him back to his former club Barcelona FC. It should be noted that the 2022 World Cup winner was forced out of Catalonia because of financial fair policies that hit the club.
For the past few years, Barcelona has been involved in a financial crisis. This has seen salaries of players cut, players released and limited transfer action.
Now the Laliga president, Javier Tebas has said that a few things need to be done in order for the 7 time Ballon D’or winner to come back to his beloved club.
Speaking to RMC, Texas said that Messi’s return to the Laliga leaders is complicated.
Several conditions have to be met such as salary reductions, player exits. Also the salary to Messi has to be known to see if the move is possible.
“If you ask me today, Messi’s return to Barça is very complicated”, told RMC. “We have to see how this evolves but several conditions must be met, like player exits and salary reductions — then you have to know what salary Messi would have”.
Without a doubt, Barca fans would love this dream reunion with their best player ever.
A number of clubs have already showed interest in the 35 year old. Among these included Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal.
These were offering him a very huge contract that would triple his rival Cristiano Ronaldo who is in Al Nassr.
Messi however turned it down as he wants to continue playing in Europe for the foreseeable future.
